    Hi Rick,
Hows the farming going? I've been up to my eyes on a project which must be finished this weekend. Even Soentjie and Cha Cha are upset I'm home so seldom. I'll get back to you guys soon.

Now Rick, you know what the doctor told you about your "imaginings". Keep them INSIDE your head. Nobody wants to hear what you imagine goes on in that barn at night....Except ME of course. I want ALL the juicy details.......LOL

I see...the plot thickens. But I think the breeder would rather take SOME profit than none, and he will do a deal with the store where the bird is not returned to him. ( I do not imagine a bird which is unstable on its feet will be any use to him as a breeder). From the store's point of view, the bird is sitting there eating profits, and they want to keep you happy as a regular customer. Looks to me that the bird will be yours. Don't blink first is all. And I'm glad Jack is on board
  4. I can see the store's point of view...they paid a certain amount for him, and they don't want to lose that money...but my point of view, and what I tried to make clear to the manager, is that if they are true to their mantra of "the animals come first", and considering the amount of money we have and will spend there over the years, they could make a really big exception in this case...
  5. The big stickler right now is we cannot afford full price, or even half price, on him, and the store would have to mark him down significantly in order for it to work, considering we would have to buy a cage and other stuff for him. Jack agrees we should take him if they let us, and we both have the mind set that he may stay and become part of the family, or we may just foster him until we find a good home for him. Time will tell...
  6. Hey John! I had posted an update yesterday morning...maybe it didn't go through. We did go down to talk to the manager Monday afternoon, and we talked for a good hour. The breeder the company uses is supposedly quite good, and they do many surprise visits each year to make sure the birds are well taken care of, so on one hand I feel a "little" bit better if they do decide to send him back. The breeder says he wants to do physical therapy on him. I'm really not 100% convinced though...the little bugger obviously had some issues when he arrived at the store...if the breeder was so "good", why didn't he notice it and not send him in the first place? The manager of the store can only do so much though, and would give the bird to us on the spot instead of sending him back (Maine to Florida is a long trip for him). She is trying to get her boss to agree.
