I found the right kind of clamps and they hold the doors tight so the disk can't spin. I am getting a new cage this spring when the bird show comes back around. I am going to have to look for one with better doors.

Merlin figured out how to open his doors quite a few years ago...he went under lock & key for a few years thereafter :).
He since forgot that he could open the doors, so no more locking...God forbid the computer keyboards and remote controls throughout the house if he did get out during the day (bird room door stays open).
Can you take a picture of the door they opened? Maybe we could have some more feasible suggestions to helping you!

What about one of those bike lock chains so you can wrap it around the door and between some bars?

Donut figured out that if he stuck his beak between the food door and the cage, he could slide the closure flap enough to free the door. He mostly did it when we were watching, so that he could taunt and tease us. A few times we came home and found him on top of his cage. He's super explorer when we're home, but he seems a little timid about roaming when we're not there to protect him. Thankfully, he was safe, and we didn't find any destruction.
We tried taping the flap shut, but he got wise to that and would start working the tape loose. Also, the tape loses its strength everytime you pull it off to get the food bowls in and out. One of the guys in our IT department at work gave me a grey putty. We put it right where the closure flap meets the door and dig the flap a little into the putty each time we close the door. It's been working really well, and with the small amount we use, Donut can't get at the putty. Sometimes when he's out he tries to pick at it, but we watch him closely and stop him right away. The putty is kind of like thumb tack -- if anyone remembers that blue stuff that people used to use to hang posters to the wall. I can look into the exact product name/brand, if you're instrested.
Its really good.Thanks for sharing.
