where do your caiques sleep?
my sage sleeps UNDER his hide and sleep on the bottom of his cage...
we put it on the bottom of his cage b/c 5 years ago we noticed he was sleeping on the bottom of his cage..initially i thought something was wrong w/him...i grew up w/parakeets and when they went to the bottom of the cage it was an indication that they were sick...
over the years, i've heard from other caique owners that some caiques even sleep on their backs on the bottomw of the cage...just wanted to find out who's caiques sleep where?
such funny funny birdies!

At the moment mine sleeps in the middle of her snuggle ring. I have a fleece tent that she does not use (it has a perch in it and she attacks it) but I am hoping that she will take to a happy hut when the 3 rd one arrives (two defective ones in a row...she had so better like it)

We don't have a hut for our two yet so they just sit pressed up against each other on the top perch but occasionally we'll wake up to find them snuggled up next to each other asleep in their empty salad bowl. They look so adorable when they do it.

They really are. This morning, I walked by their cage to see them sleeping next to each other in the salad bowl (butts up and heads down). I walk by again 5 minutes and Kaelyn is in the salad bowl on his back looking at me and Loki is perched on the rim of the salad bowl behind Kaelyn with his foot on Kaelyn's head and also looking at me. But of course they move before I could get a picture.

I have tried to catch Soel sleeping on her side like a tired horse, but have failed.

Actually this was the first time I have ever seen them sleeping... ever.

Maxx (WBC)sleeps inside a coconut. I bought this hallowed out coconut that hangs from the top of the cage and that is where he sleeps. It is actually funny. I tied to swap it out with a comfy tent type thing and he would not sleep in it-- I think he was mad.
When it is nighty night time , I start to get his cage cover and he makes a few squeeks and off he goes into the coconut. I say "nighty night Maxx" and he mubbles something back and that is it for the night.
Molly (WBC) new to the house, clings to the top corner of the cage.

HI,
My Leroy sleeps on his perch at the top of the cage. I bought him a cozy tent, but so far, he has no interest in it. connie

how cute is that salad bowl sleeping arrangement and the coconut...
when he gets tired at night, if we haven't done the bedtime routine yet...sage will rattle his 'baby rings' on the inside of his cage...that's the sign he's tired and it's time for lights out...he then will go to the bottom of the cage and squeaks, whistles and kisses while under his house...
occassionally while we are settling in to our bed we will hear a ver tired and muffled 'hey baby' coming from the bird room...ha ha ha!!!

I love that story. I just love when birds talk themselves to sleep. Leroy doesn't do that but my little lovebird does and I could listen to it all day. connie

Mango whistles to me right as I am putting her to bed. She does it until she can't hear me anymore. I think it is really sweet.
