Adventure 1:
since tookie and cosmo are not-so-gr8 buddies anymore, cosi-mozi has been hangin out with me lately. i ws on my computer 2day and he has flown to me and sat on my shoulder all fluffied up (which is wat he does wen he wants 2 have a cuddle) and so i started scratching him and he let me (which is not normal bcoz he's 'wild') and then i scratched his belly (but then he got sick of that + bit me :mwahaha ) and then he even let me scratch under his wing (which is REALLY not normal and he neva eva lets anyone do that) so it ws really cute but then he flew off and i gave him a treat:) :) :)

OMG so cute. I did not know how playful those little guys could be. I love how smart he is to learn how to slide down that pole.

Cosmo is back in action (reinstalled in da house where he belongs!).
He is a very strange little bird, still picks on Spike and chases him and sometimes jumps on him so he screams like a girl and runs away.
When I get him out of his cage first thing in the morning, he has a funny little ritual he does for his first poop (he never poops in his cage unless he absolutely has to). I take him over to the playgym and put him on the perch so he can do his big mess on the newspaper below. He fluffs up and wiggles his bottom from side to side, and you think he is just about to do it (he also repeats after me 'Do a poo' in a little squeaky voice) then he stops and he taps the perch three times with his beak and waits. I have to tap the perch three times with my finger nail and tell him again 'Do a poo' which he says and then starts the wiggle again. This can go on for afew minutes until I worry he is going to fly off and drop one somewhere else I don't want him to so I eyeball him up close and repeat 'DO A POO', tap tap tap, then he finally does it. This bird is crazy.

Cosmo is the consumate bather, here is a photo of him getting into it. He totally immerses himself in the water and splashes about until he is completely soaked.

yesterday, moz (my new nickname 4 cosi) was out while we were dinnering and we had chicken and veggies and he flew down onto the table and stole a massive bit of chicken and ran away with it :giggle, and bcoz he knew it had sauce on it, he dragged it along te table so there was mess to clean up too. :mwahaha
also, it shows how smart he is coz i had treats and i put one under a tissue and got him to try and get it. he is used to trying to get treats from under containers and stuff so it took him a while to figure it out but coz he is so pro at getting under newspaper he just used that skill to get to the treats. then i put 2 tissues on top of a treat and he got confused coz he went under the 1st layer bt the treat wsnt there. once he figured that out i put a treat under a coke lid and 2 tissues and he got it really quick. i tried to teach spike, and he was probs smart enuf to do it, its just that he cant concentrate, so he failed. :redface

Just keeping all of Cosmo's fans updated on the latest Cosmo quirks.
Bubbles reprimanded me the other day because I put a dish out on the bench for the birds to have a bath and it was clear glass. She told me that Cosmo only likes 'white' baths. Huh??? Don't be silly I thought. He didn't have his bath that morning.
Spike and Cosmo flew into the bathroom and Cosmo sat on the side of the basin (which is white) looking intently at it. I showed him the bath on the bench, but until I changed from the clear glass dish to a white one, he refused to have a bath. As soon as I changed he jumped into it. This bird is loopy.

LOL my quaker is like that as well, BUT he will only bathe in one certain plastic bowl. No other will do. I couldn't find it one day so I put one up on his cagetop that was similar, just not quite as deep. Forget it, not gonna happen. It has to be that ONE dish only, I have to be right there, and be splashing water on his back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RfpUDdPocU
He will nudge my hand if I don't "scrub his back"...lol. As you can see, he gets totally soaked and loves it!

I have been worried that the time has finally come for Spike to realise that he is in fact a 175 gram ball of muscle with a nasty big beak and a bad attitude to match, and was no longer going to be bossed around, chased around and bullied by a little scream cheek monster who has no respect!
It would mean that I would have to keep them separate and that makes things more complicated, and I would worry about Spike being able to really hurt Cosmo.
The scales are definitely moving, Spike is now 2 years and five months old and becoming more assertive in his interactions with the other birds. Cosmo is sensing that and seems to be much more wary of him. I can still hold both of them (one on each hand) but Cosmo has not outright attacked Spike all week which tells me that something has changed. I am keeping a VERY CLOSE EYE on them because I don't want anyone hurt. Never underestimate your caique!

I hope you don't mind me reviving this old thread. Cosmo wants to remain famous (or infamous!) and let you know that he still has his minions to run after him. Here he is with his budgie homies doing their duty.
This was taken just before we moved. At the moment Cosmo can't come out into the main area of the house until we get window blinds because of the danger to him of flying into windows and Bubbles refuses to have him clipped. Don't worry, he still gets plenty of flying time. Still has the bad attitude. He has attacked Xena a couple of times and I keep them separate.
