Hello Everyone,

I have been on this forum way back when it started , I do not know why my data did not transfer over but-- anyway.

I am owned by a WBC Maxx- he was 2 yrs old 12/30/07.

Maxx sleeps inside a coconut that hangs in his cage-- you have seen these at pet stores or bird shops.

I looked in side today an I noticed wood trimings/shavings and small bits of squash at the bottom of the coconut. I removed this. I do not think Maxx was happy about that-- I want to see if he does this again.

Why this behavior-- nesting? Or just making the coconut more comfortable?

You insight is welcomed

Orettes

It sounds like nesting behavior. We had to remove the pet tents from our caiques cages as they became very territorial over their cages plus is increased their natural instincts to mate and lay eggs.

Sounds like it could be the start of nesting behavior. Keep an eye on him he may become more agressive and territorital over his cage and belongings.

Thanks you all for your replies.

I am charting new territory with Maxx-- Glad to hear it is normal. He has not put any more matrerial back into his coconut sleeping quarters.

Thank again!
