that is so cute..i'll have to try a plate with bailey...he loves baths too! i usually hold him under the shower hose on the sink and let the water fall on him like rain..he just sits on my arm and flutters his feathers..sometimes after his "shower" i put him in his cage..he goes right to his water dish sits on it facing outwards and starts dipping down inside..tail first...too funny..

aren't they just the greatest? honestly, i can't think of any other parrots that "do" the funny things these guys do! i don't even know how to explain it. it's like they're just constantly going along just thinking of what they can do next! i'd take a caique over any other parrot at this point...think i'm a little bias...

She is SO cute! I'm glad to see her having such a good time. I've been off for awhile, is she still biting you? Daisy is just two months younger, so I keep holding my breath!

Just curious...how do you let your caique dry itself? Do you let him/her dry naturally, assist with a towel, or use a hairdryer?
Thanks!

She hasn't bitten me lately (I'm holding my breath also). I've got this large sign beside her cage that says "APPROACH WITH CAUTION". :omg:

I always have a towel ready for Merry to jump on as soon as she is finished bathing. She immediately starts towel-surfing and drying herself off. She does a pretty good job of it, all by herself. When I first got her (a year ago), I used a hairdryer on her, but I soon learned that it dried her skin out. It's really better to let them dry naturally... helps to moisturize their feathers and skin. Just make sure the room is not cold (no drafts) and that they aren't shivering badly. If Merry starts shivering badly, I will pick her up in the towel and hold her close to me, gently drying her off and warming her up (with head and beak kisses and preening her pin feathers)... she loves the attention and "so do I". :hug
