Hello,

I'm Stephanie and I live in the Netherlands. Today I received the parrotjournal (a Dutch magazine) and in that magazine was an article about caiques. I found it very interesting because it just felt like I was reading about my own caique. The writer of the article was Emily. I googled, and found this forum.

I live together with my boyfriend and since october 2007 we have a caique. Since april 2008 we also have an African grey. In the future we would like to get another caique and another African grey aswell. But for now we enjoy the parrots we have.

This are our parrots:
Apollo (on the background his friend Nemo who lives with my sister in law)

Micah

I'm curious to look around at this forum.

Hi Steph
I give you the URL from this forum.
I think we know eachother from the senna's forum. At the time (november 08) I want some information about caique's. Hope you remember? Rikki is living at my home now with Tommy my grey.
I found Rikki ( 8 months old now) with a couple who had 2 caiques, but they think the birds fight to much and can't stand the screeming ... so Rikki is living with us now and we love him already soooooo much!! :D
Hope you enjoy the forum, I do!
The people overhere are so kind and helpfull!

Enjoy!

Yes, I remember. I replied quite a lot at your questions at Sennas. But I didn't know you were the owner of the journal. :D How are the caique and the grey doing together? Are they accepting each other?

Hello and welcome!! I like the international flavour of this forum too!!

It is such a wonderful thing to have other caique owners around the world to converse with. I think it's going to be a long time before there are many Aussies around for me to talk to, as I am caique crazy!

Its good to see another caique and grey owner. Do Apollo and Micah get along? My grey Ralph can't stand Joey. Welcome to the forum.

Apollo and Micah are always together outside the cage but they play at seperate places. Micah is afraid of Apollo because when we just got Micah Apollo liked to attack Micah. At the moment Apollo likes to play with Micah but his playing is way too wild for an afraid grey. So Micah always runs away when Apollo gets too close.

My mother in law also has an African Grey and that one is not afraid, so that goes way better with Apollo.

Tommy (grey) and Rikki (BHC) goes along fine.
They have there own places and when I am sitting on the couch and the birds are there to, they walk by, don't fight.
Rikki is too buzzy for Tommy, she is 20 years, so take it easy on her :p
